Hart District Council are exploring the opportunity to create a new comminuty and needed a website to act as a source of information for stakeholders.
In June 2019, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) announced that Hart District Council had joined its Garden Community Programme, receiving £150,000 in funding in the first year. The project has the working title Shapley Heath, and is located in the Winchfield and Murrell Green area.
Shapley Heath Garden Community plans to provide up to 5,000 new homes.
Hart wanted to hear stakeholder’s views and ideas. This website is their chance to help in creating a well-planned, sustainable place for people to live in the district.
Community surveys and public events for stakeholders.
Surveys and events give the public a chance to share their thoughts on issues like, community and wellbeing, homes and heritage, green spaces, sustainable transport, and future proofing.
WCAG AA grade accessibility
Making sure that the Shapley Heath website was accessible and easy to use for all was key to making this project a success.
As a result, we worked with Hart District Council to create an appealing design that also catered for all users with AA Grade accessibility.
“We all know that first impressions count, and Hewitt Matthews, certainly impressed from the offset with their professional, detailed, and creative response to our website brief for our Garden Community project.
The team have been nothing but helpful and responsive in our quest to ensure that the design of our website was ‘just right’. They have never made anything seem too much, even those very ‘last minute’ changes!”
