BACKGROUND

Based in Suffolk and covering East Anglia, Reeves Events is a well-established hospitality and events company with over 15 years experience. Catering for a wide variety of events, Reeves Events offer event management, bar and catering solutions, plus recommended vendors.

THE CHALLENGE

With their extensive experience in hospitality and the variety of services they offer, Reeves Events sought after a website which would not only showcase their offering, but also ensure scalability and ease of use. Focusing on the challenges faced, Hewitt Matthews were the chosen agency to create the new online platform for Reeves Events.

Scalability – with a diverse and ever-changing service portfolio, the website needed the flexibility to grow and adapt.
Ease of Management – Reeves Events required an easy-to-use backend system to update services, events, menus, and recommendations, as and when needed.
Mobile Responsiveness– ensuring a seamless mobile experience was crucial, given the increasing mobile user base.

SOLUTION

Hewitt Matthews took a strategic approach to the build to ensure Reeves Events main objectives were fulfilled.

Develop a scalable WordPress website that can grow along with their expanding service range.
Prioritise ease of use for backend management, allowing Reeves Events to update the site’s content effortlessly.
Ensure consistent design across all pages and a mobile-friendly user experience.

A clean, custom design was developed, maintaining a consistent look throughout the website, helping to create a cohesive brand identity.

A key factor in the success of the project was the back-end management. WordPress was selected as the CMS to create a scalable and easy to use back-end system. The Client can now easily add new services or changes to existing ones, without compromising the site’s performance.

SITE FEATURES

Popup Food Menus – we incorporated menus on each page that work seamlessly on both desktop and mobile.
Little Black Book Page – a ‘recommendations’ page was added where new tabs can be easily inserted and rearranged. This was an integral part of the website for Reeves Events and really wanted a clean look to the page.
Collapsible Tabs – for mobile view, the navigation changes to collapsible tabs to enhance the user experience.
Blog Section– a dedicated blog section was added to facilitate content updates, a key aspect of the client’s online strategy.

CONCLUSION

The project was a success as we have created a website that can easily evolve along with the expansion of Reeves Events. Back-end management is hassle-free and the mobile experience is excellent.
