Hewitt Matthews and UUKi: Shortlisted for Marketing Campaign of the Year

The #WeAreTogether campaign has been shortlisted for The PIEoneer Awards 2021!


The PIEoneer Awards are held by The PIE News, the leading source of information in the International Higher Education sector. The awards celebrate innovations and achievement in global education.

The #WeAreTogether campaign is the second campaign Hewitt Matthews has managed to be shortlisted for Marketing Campaign of the Year at the PIEoneer Awards, the last being #MySTEMjourney in 2020.


#WeAreTogether was created in response to the start of COVID-19. The main goal was to provide reassurance and support to future EU and international students who were getting ready to study in the UK during the pandemic, and who may be reconsidering their options.

As a result, Hewitt Matthews and Universities UK International came together to execute the #WeAreTogether campaign which focused on student-lead content with outstanding success. By the end of the campaign our polls showed that 67% of EU and international students felt more confident about studying in the UK as a direct result of the campaign.

All in all, over 90 universities joined the campaign with backing from UCAS, UKCISA, BUILA, IDP Connect the British Council and Study Portals. The campaign drove over 300,000 users to COVID-19 resources and generated over 22 million video views, 59 million people saw the campaign across the world.
